We are happy to announce that the release of our latest CD with Pursuance Records will be at Yoshi’s SF on September 2nd, 8pm. In addition to the CD release, the artists from the Local 365 (Local 365 site) will be closing their exhibit at the “Lush Life” gallery, next door to Yoshi’s (exhibit begins Thursday, Aug. 20). So be sure to show up early and check out their closing party before you make your way into the concert. Here is some information: SF Gate, Local 365

We’ve got a fun show happening at Anna’s Jazz Isle this Sunday at 8pm; just in time to recover from your independence day excessivities.

There is going to be some live artists from Local 365 (Local 365 website) painting during the show. Great art by folks like James Gayles and Suzie Ferris have put a new spark of inspiration into the jazz scene around here and we’re proud to have the two artistic mediums of aural and visual connect yet again.

On June 21 we celebrate Mike’s Birthday at the Makeout Room, 8pm. That’s right, Mike Irwin is turning 30 years old and he’s officially an old man. You should make fun of him as much as possible and definitely do not trust him anymore if you are 29 or younger. In addition to Mike, Mr. Eric Markowitz will be turning the big four-O!…since he’s elderly now he’ll probably just die on stage, but he’ll take that chance anyway. The April 12 show will also feature a [...]]]> Our residency at the Makeout Room continues and we’re proud to have the wonderful Lavay Smith singing with us on our next few dates there. Lavay will be with us on April 12 (Easter Sunday) and again on May 10th; the shows start at 8pm and cost $7.

The April 12 show will also feature a fantasic big band, The Fil Lorenz Orchestra, led by our baritone saxophinist Fil Lorenz. They will be bringing the hard-swing with Wil Blades on Hammond B3 instead of piano that evening. This show is part of our ongoing mission to feature jazz bands with a strong vision, deep swing and visionary arrangements.
